Tentacle fight
Water churned in a violent vortex. Low roar echoed as a shadow moved beneath us. Tentacles as wide as tree trunks slapped around.
- Elijah J. Lucas restrained and pulled under water.
- Thank you enbiggened Yort Li for swimming after and rescuing Elijah.
- Elijah went down underwater.
- Cisco illuminated us with Faerie Fire.
- Yort Li killed the beast by slicing a tentacle from tip to body.
- Yort Li dragged Elijah and Ruasar back to the main cavern.
- Cisco healed Elijah after Yort Li used Spare the Dying.
Time to move on. Discussed the aftermath of the battle.
The crystal — again
Headed to the entrance of the main cavern. The crystal structure had grown back, bigger than before.
Coalesced on the island. Sent Fernie to see if there was an end to the roof. Ruasar cast Detect Magic — the crystal was clearly tied to the Sea Hag; the water bore faint traces of the same magic. Could see it on us as it dried.
Fernie reported a forest of stalactites above us.
Cisco Prestidigitated us dry. Yort Li gave us all wine to celebrate.
Ruasar poured wine onto his hand and splashed the crystal with it. Elijah J. Lucas asked Ruasar if he had any magical solutions. Ruasar hit the wine-soaked section with his quarterstaff.
The staff cleaved through. The crystal shattered.
A massive explosion. The light illuminated Bjorn Ironfoot. Superhero-landed amidst us. Everyone survived except Cisco, who was blasted against the wall. Bjorn had a massive dragging anchor instead of his peg leg — clearly a thrall.
Combat time. One by one, deckhands appeared out of the water — first mate included.
Ruasar used Misty Step for a tactical relocation to a rock on the outer ring away from the island.
