A small magical lockbox kept in Drogon’s office at Warehouse 17. Possibly the source of the magical phenomena affecting Seris’s ledger.

Properties

  • Old — decades. Well worn and used.
  • Signs of repairs upon repairs.
  • No clear inscriptions — just a locking latch.
  • Unusual for the small size.
  • The humming appears to come from the bottom.
  • Weighty — heavier than it probably should be.
  • Six-sided. And cursed. (YGOR, Session 34.)
  • Growing. Confirmed six inches per side in Session 38 — noticeably larger than when first found.
  • Six engraved words, one per face — not blank after all. Revealed when YGOR rotated it in Session 38: Counted, Recorded, Acknowledged, Witnessed, Remembered, Endured.
  • When Adrik opened the office drawer holding it, Cisco sensed faint magic. The room felt larger than it should afterward — something is awake now.
  • The room “reset” when Lorien put the box back where it was and left.

In the campaign

  • Discovered by Adrik and Cisco in Session 32.
  • Examined by Lorien in Session 33; the party left it behind to avoid tipping off Drogon and his crew.
  • YGOR confirmed in Session 34 that it has six sides and is cursed.
  • Session 37 — the party finally took it. Seris handed it over. When Cisco opened its drawer, reality warped. It exerts a gravitational pull on whoever holds it — Lorien fell into a trance and lost 24 hours of memory before Cisco wrapped it in a hat (not the Hat of Rats). Confirmed to be a cube. Carried out of Warehouse 17 in Seris’s satchel by Elijah.
  • Session 38YGOR rotated the cube to reveal it isn’t blank after all: one word engraved per face (Counted, Recorded, Acknowledged, Witnessed, Remembered, Endured), and it’s grown to six inches per side. Theorizes it stores memories rather than deleting them — tying directly to Lorien’s amnesia — and wants to study cube and Lorien side by side. Considers it dangerous in the wrong hands and possibly one of a kind.
