Yort Li’s plunder: 1 cut diamond + obsidian amulet + 1 small sapphire (50gp each).

Aftermath of the boss fight

With the Forest Hag dead, the evil air dissipated. Sun shining, shadows receding, ghosts fading with the sun.

Yort Li revived his son Dear Li. Son asked if Yort Li was his father. Yort Li said no. Son kept asking. Fell back to unconsciousness. Yort Li lifted him over his shoulder.

Cisco revived Alicia. She knew him: “You came for me?” Cisco brushed it aside and gave her a healing potion. Called her “friend.”

Elijah J. Lucas and Lorien Painbearer convinced Cisco to revive Ivon and Garrin — Cisco used Cure Wounds by slapping Garrin in the face and poking Ivon in the nose. They woke, relieved, grateful.

Ivon had Lorien wake Hal.

Elijah searched the Darkling Elder and found loot.

Yort Li revived Dear Li again. Dear Li accepted Yort Li wasn’t his father. Yort Li claimed his name was John. Dear Li didn’t believe him but said nothing.

The locked box

Cisco asked Garrin about the iron-wrought key. He had no idea. Cisco asked about locked warehouses. Garrin pointed to a locked doorway.

We investigated the abandoned mill again:

Inside: a ring, silver necklace, several rubies and sapphires. We split these among us so Garrin couldn’t claim them and Lorien wouldn’t tattle.

Also a note describing vast treasures, great powers, and severe danger that lies deep below the sea — see the R.A. note below.

The bugbear ambush

About to leave when we were accosted by a local chief of bugbears and goblins looking to take advantage of the hag power gap.

  • Elijah J. Lucas went down (PJ told Hans honestly that he messed up).
  • Elijah was forcibly held in the air by Ruasar for incredibly questionable reasons.
  • Ruasar blasted a bugbear with electricity so violently it overcharged and killed Ivon.
  • Hal turned out to be an absolute beast in combat.
  • Dear Li was absolutely useless.
  • Somehow everyone survives at the end.
  • Elijah went down twice.
  • Fernie and Elijah killed five of the little goblins as a cleanup crew.

The R.A. note

To the brave, or perhaps the foolish, who unearth this missive:

Beneath the tides of the Stormreach Sea, where the waters turn black as ink and the air grows heavy with salt and despair, lies the Citadel of the Sunken Crown. Once a seat of power for a forgotten king, it was swallowed by the sea long ago, taking its treasures—and its horrors—with it.

Riches beyond imagining rest within its depths: gold enough to buy kingdoms, jewels that rival the stars, and artifacts steeped in ancient power. But take heed—what the sea claims, it does not surrender lightly. The citadel is said to be guarded by the restless dead, creatures of the abyss, and worse… things that were never meant to walk this world.

Seek the black reef, where the waves break unnaturally, and the wind whispers of forgotten names. There, the entrance lies hidden, waiting for those daring enough to claim its spoils. But be warned: many have sought the Sunken Crown, and few—if any—have returned.

Should you tread this path, let courage guide you and greed temper your steps, for the sea remembers… and the sea is unforgiving.

Signed,
R.A.
