What to do with Ruasar
Elijah J. Lucas wanted to tie Ruasar up immediately. Lorien Painbearer pushed back — trusts Ruasar.
Convinced Ruasar to put himself to Sleep since he was unpredictable. Yort Li and Elijah tied him up while asleep.
Lorien and Cisco argued. Elijah inspected the necklace — sickly green glow, no obvious clasps or seams, glow increased on approach.
While we discussed, Ruasar defied logic and reason and escaped. Lorien and Cisco gave chase and took him down by shooting him with a crossbow and hitting him with the butt of a spear. Meanwhile Elijah waited at the camp and looted Ruasar’s pack for 13gp.
Breaking the necklace
Brought Ruasar back to the Empty Net. Tied him to the table in the private room with a gag.
Discussed bringing him to Lord Alric, the Sea Hag, etc. Old Briar came in and we explained.
Decided to cut off the necklace with a rusty hacksaw Old Briar brought:
- Old Briar cut through the first third before we stopped him — green energy was creeping up his arms and into his eyes.
- Lorien Painbearer cut through another third as the energy grew.
- Yort Li cut through all but 1/42” of the necklace. Green energy sparking everywhere, very intense.
- Yort Li dropped a single drop of acid onto it, breaking it.
The Forest Hag appeared as a shimmering image: “You are trying to break my power but you only broke one link, and there are many left.”
The power dissipated from the necklace. Cisco and Elijah gingerly placed it in their sack.
We woke Ruasar. He appeared just tired but shaken. We left him locked in the room for the night.
Jeffrey’s vigil
Headed to the vigil for Jeffrey IV. They roasted him a bit but he was clearly beloved.
Sent him off on an ocean burial. Did not go well — bumping against the dock, getting tangled. Someone had to row out and push the body further out.
Lorien Painbearer headed to the grieving widow (Mousey Woman) and her son Jeffrey V. Just before this, Elijah headed to the water and asked if Jeffrey counted as a Sacrifice. No reply.
Lorien crept up behind the Mousey Woman and froze for like 10+ minutes without a word. Insane. Left without a word.
The rest of the night
The rest of the party got very drunk in the tavern:
- Elijah J. Lucas bought a round for everyone in Jeffrey IV’s honor.
- Beat Yort Li in dragonchess while drunk-rolling disadvantage.
- Cisco fleeced some people in cards.
- Ruasar continuously failed Dex checks to escape his bonds.
- Lorien hyped up Dear Li to talk to Yort Li, but he got drunk and played dragonchess with Elijah instead — clearly didn’t know how to play and being very rowdy.
- Dear Li threw up on Lorien. Killed the vibe. Cisco cast Prestidigitation on Lorien to clean him up.
Lorien and Cisco checked on Ruasar before bed. Still tied up.
