A village inland from Brackenford, on the western side of the Fernshade River. Taken over by the Forest Hag — all of the inhabitants were sapped of their strength and turned into ghostly ghouls.

State

A skeleton of the old town. The forest had been actively absorbing the village. Market destroyed, chapel in ruins, orchard withered with bones among the rotten apples. Hooded ghostly figures glide along the streets carrying baleful torches.

After the Forest Hag’s death in Session 08, the curse lifted: sun shone, shadows receded, ghosts faded.

Locations within

  • The chapel — desecrated, witnessed an attempted ritual of six stones during the curse
  • The orchard — withered apple trees, ground littered with bones and rotten fruit
  • The graveyard — town center; where the Forest Hag manifested as the “tender of the dead”
  • The mill — abandoned. Ruasar found a forest-rune dagger and odd carvings inside
  • Kellen’s trading post — Kellen himself hadn’t been seen since the forest started encroaching
  • The market — destroyed
  • A statue of “the Weeping Sentinel” — whose visage is identical to Lord Alric. Briefly mistaken for him.

In the campaign

  • The party arrived in Session 07, passed through the trees on manual footpaths to avoid the main path.
  • Returned to Brackenford in Session 10, noting the forest healing on the way out.
